Nineteen years ago, on September 18, I came into being. After almost 18 years of joy, my parents shipped me off to Muncie, IN and told me to learn something. So here I sit in my tiny dorm room contemplating life and enjoying the few hours of down time I have for the weekend.
I'm
a sophomore at Ball State University studying Criminal Justice
and Computer Applications. Someday I'd like to be either an FBI
agent or a U.S. Marshal. After I get my Bachelor's in Criminal
Justice, I like to go on to get my Master's at The John Jay
College of Criminal Justice. I've also been considering the
military as a stepping stone between college and real life work.
The Marines would definately be my first choice...Semper Fi :)
At the moment, I'm a student in the Honors College and I'm looking forward to going to Europe this summer as part of a Honors Colloquium. We'll be going to Harris Manchester College in Oxford and we'll be studying British Literature, Art, and Architecture. The actual time we're in a classroom is about 6 hours total for the whole three weeks, the rest of the time will be spent traveling (we plan on going to Scotland, Ireland, London, and maybe a weekend in Paris) and seeing the sites. I am so excited about this trip; it will be my first time out of the United States and Canada.
I also play the clarinet and am involved in the 'Pride of Mid-America' the university marching band as well as one of the many concert bands. This past football season, I was chosen as an assistant section leader for the clarinets. The marching band has been good to me...I met both my best friend, Jenny, and my boyfriend, Greg, there.
Over my semester break and during the summer, I work as an intern at Indianapolis Life Insurance Company. I do basic computer programming stuff for the annuities department as well as some of their grunt work. I've learned a lot during my time at ILICo and gained invaluable experience.
Last summer I took a trip to New York with my friend Annie. We had a blast. We stayes right in the center of the Theatre District, and did all the touristy things like going to the Empire State Building, Central Park, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art. We also got to see four shows on Broadway: Rent, Cats, Footloose, and Miss Saigon. I fell in love with the city and can't wait until I get the opportunity to go back.

My favorite TV show is the Military Drama JAG. I've created my own JAG page and listed some of the best links.
I'm a big fan of music from my parents generation and at the moment I'm on a big Elvis kick. I also like the Beatles, The Mamas and the Papas, and The Monkeys. People and groups not from the 60's that I like are: The Eagles, Sarah McLachlan, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Tori Amos, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill...the list goes on and on, but those are some of my current favorites.
I fell in love with Broadway Musicals after my parents took me to see Phantom of The Opera four or five years ago. Since then I've seen many, many others including Evita, A Chorus Line, Big, Patsy!, Anything Goes, Les Miserables, Grease, Rent, Footloose, Miss Saigon, Cats, and my current favorite (even though I haven't seen it yet) is Jekyll and Hyde.
